Earth School

On processing invaluable lessons

Oh boy, here we go…

Deemed a bit controversial, the spiritual subject matter, Earth School, is one that either evokes a nervous system retaliation in the form of fear, followed by dispute, or downright confusion.

This is possibly because those general principles we have spent most of our life carefully nurturing, are being presented in a different light, and suddenly gifts us, or rather springs upon us, the opportunity to evolve them further.

Due to this, I find the best way to continue reading or listening to this blog is with an open mind. With an expectation that this information may expand your existing knowledge, or that it will add to the beliefs that you’ve carefully adopted as your own. The beautiful thing is that your intuition will guide you in embracing those concepts suggested and allow you to pass over those that don’t feel quite right.

So, grab your pens, your paper, or take mental notes, because right now we are going to take you back to school, earth school.

Yes, today we will focus on the belief that our souls are on earth to learn, and to grow.

Earth School

When meditating on how to best present this subject matter to you, I kept hearing the words “keep it short, and keep it simple.” With that said, I advise that if this were to be a topic that you would like to dive into deeper, to read Monica Ten-Kate’s book, also known as Monica the Medium, Messages from Above. A talented and connected wise counsel, her book educates us on our soul’s journey and provides context and comfort to those who have loved ones that have passed on. She is personally one of my favorite mediums, and I could not recommend her book, her community, or her live events more.

In relation to Earth School, within her book Monica Ten-Kate states “This planet is completely dedicated to our soul’s learning and education. From the moment we are born, we begin our Earth School curriculum. Every day of our life, we are attending classes and learning. We are here for the opportunity for our soul to grow, evolve, and learn.”

To further expand Earth School’s understanding, this means that our souls, our higher selves (the part of ourselves that are connected to the heavens), choose to live various lifetimes on earth to master specific learnings. Whether that be experiences and learnings on forgiveness, compassion, love, fear, our soul is on earth to study, and to evolve. This includes the understanding that our soul reincarnates, that we live many lives, to master whatever subject matter that our soul seeks. Once various focusses are mastered, it is thought that we become counsels or guides, ourselves, on the other side.

Monica Ten-Kate includes two helpful visual references: 1.) to view our higher, heavenly self, as a clementine, with each interior slice pertaining to a life we have lived on earth and that 2.) our bodies can be viewed as a car, a vessel that carry our souls as passengers on our journey to the end destination, heaven, in which we then exit the vessel and depart back to the above.

the reality of Processing This suggested Belief

This is where I am going to take personal pause, and share my innermost thoughts with you on how I processed the concept of Earth School.:

When I first heard about reincarnation, I shut down, because it wasn’t something that I was taught being raised in the Catholic faith. I casted it aside as another belief system that was not my own, an entirely different religion altogether. Then when I began to open myself up spiritually, taking parts of my beliefs with me from Catholicism and marrying them with other personal beliefs, I started to peek with one eye open at the Earth School theory. But it still made me feel uncomfortable.

To think that not only myself, but my family, my daughter, had a life before this in which she wasn’t mine, but someone else’s quite honestly hurt. It stung. But the more I sat with it, the less painful it became. No, I still don’t like the idea of sharing my loved ones across many lives, but the overall theory just felt right to me. As my fearful internal dialogue and rebuttals quieted, my heart and my wisdom ascended.

A gentle nod rose within my soul that “Yes, this may be true.

My Belief

What I find to be the most difficult nowadays, is the question of “Well, what subject matter am I studying right now in this life?” That question carries a lot of weight and makes me feel as if I am downplaying the significance of my life altogether. How can I compare this beautiful gift of a life to taking one class, one credit, at a university? Due to this, I personally have decided that although my soul understands and accepts the concept of Earth School, that my heart, my body, and my spirit are all here on earth right now, and I am choosing to be with them. Not to get lost in the depths of a credible theory, but to cherish this life, to value it, to study it and to love it.

I’ve determined that this blog is an opportunity to present you with an additional way to view life. For those excelled students: to take the seriousness in which you dedicate and dedicated yourself to studying subject matter outside of your being, and to apply those invaluable work ethics to studying all matters within yourself as well. For similarly to how we perform within our academic and career experiences, it is critical we take life lessons with the same dedication, devotion, and determination.

As valuable as it is to absorb external knowledge and then use it outside of ourselves within our job, on an examination, or in a relationship, it is even more valuable to study the inner workings of ourselves, and to apply our learnings within as well. If we don’t apply what we learn around us, to all that we are, then we are simply focusing on external evolution rather than the true evolution of the soul.

For being here on earth isn’t just about excelling within your career, relationships, passions, it is to excel from within as well. So, make sure that you are bringing yourself along for the lifelong wild ride.

I consider the world, this Earth, to be like a school, and our life, the classrooms.
